MOPS kickoff..

This past Friday night, we had our 2013 MOPS kickoff! It turned out to be a great night of food[LOTS of it], games, door prizes, and fellowship! We decided to go with a football theme, tail gating, etc. We had big plans for outdoor tents and corn hole BUT the weather was so hot and the bugs were multiplying by the second, so we decided to just stay indoors! Everyone brought tons of yummy appetizers and desserts that you would find at a tailgating party. We had 3 different board games set up, and played mommy bingo as a way to get to know some of the other moms! We were blessed with some amazing door prizes to give away from Paparazzi Jelwrey, Lulu's, Sonic, Starbucks, Mary Kay, the Hair Forum, etc. It was a fun night and a great way to start off our year.
The only thing I would have changed...bringing my camera instead of using a camera phone and taking more pictures;/

a new year...

Welcome friends!  Are you ready to dive into the 2013-2014 MOPS year?  I am so excited about this year’s theme “A Beautiful Mess”.  Our topic this year addresses a need that runs deep within the heart of every mother. Whether its toys, crumbs, or spit up, mothers live in a constant mess. It’s because of these every day surroundings that mothers then start to feel like a mess. We are exhausted, under-showered, and hormonal. Our past and present circumstances and decisions can leave us feeling inadequate for God’s love and purposes. We tend to forget we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago! Ephesians 2:10 states, "For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.”

The steering team and I will be working this summer planning exciting crafts, service projects and other fun surprises for the year!  Remember if you haven’t already registered for this year, you can do so here. We look forward to seeing you soon!
